Bohemia Interactive is looking for a Technical Designer to join their team in Brno. As a Technical Designer, you will develop, implement, and expand gameplay mechanics in cooperation with other company departments. A successful Technical Designer will also be a team player, work with already established systems, and be flexible when it comes to the day-to-day needs of the project.
Job Description
- Scripts in the engine´s proprietary language
- Produces written design proposals and design documentation
- Expands gameplay features and mechanics in sandbox environment
- Takes part in creative proposals
- Makes technical analysis and implementation of the new gameplay principles
- Balances the gameplay experience in close cooperation with the Lead Designer
- Provides a monthly statement of work to direct superior (list of solved tasks and notes)
Education/Skills
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience
- Good spoken and written English and Czech
- Experience in an international company is advantage
Technical knowledge and skills
- Upperintermediate knowledge of a scripting language like C#, Java, Python or similar
- Focus on the open gameplay principles and end user experience
- Creativity combined with analytical approach to a design
- Ability to abstract important features and turn them into a design
- Ability to work and communicate in a team
- Ability to learn new things and procedures
- Good communication and presentations skills
- Knowledge of features implementation in multiplayer environment
- Previous knowledge of software versioning and revision control systems (SVN)
- Ability to abstract important features and turn them into design
- Can properly estimate time necessary to do task (e.g. write a function)
- Is very fluent in using inhouse software supporting development (e.g. Wiki, Confluence, Jira, SVN)
- Able to debug and find an error
- Able to use internal framework and rules of code writing
- Able to orientate himself in other´s code and make a partial adjustments
